Imagine going about your world with sight loss.
Sight Concern Worcestershire are inviting people to get involved in an unusual and memorable event, Walk the Blindfold Mile, across Worcester City Centre, on Saturday 18th April 2020, 10am.
You will walk in pairs, one blindfolded, one sighted, along a designated route, starting from Sight Concern’s Bradbury Centre on Sansome Walk and taking in the High Street and Worcester Cathedral. Your partner will guide you and you can swap over along the way. There will be a number of blindfolded challenges to complete, such as buying and drinking a cup of coffee. There will be activities at Cathedral Square, including a penalty shoot out and using a white cane.
Friends, family, companies and schools are all invited to take part to experience some of the challenges that blind and partially sighted people overcome each day. We will show you what you need to do to guide someone safely. Previous participants describe it as a very powerful, memorable and attention-grabbing experience!
