Introducing Sensory Matters by Sight Concern Worcestershire, a specialised information and advice service supported by Action Deafness and funded by Worcestershire County Council. This service is dedicated to providing essential support for anyone in Worcestershire who is hearing or vision impaired or has dual sensory loss. We are really excited about taking part in the Worcester Carnival this weekend, Saturday 1st July. Everyone is welcome to join us, and all the details are below: Our theme is “Bright for Sight – Beach Party” which fits in with the Carnival theme of “Our Colourful World” so we will be wearing bright beach wear! We are also running a stall in the Carnival Village on Pitchcroft racecourse. Timings: 10am Stall open – we need volunteers to join us on the staill 12.30pm Meet outside the Swan Theatre (for those that want to be there for judging) 1.00pm Assemble on Pitch Croft for judging of walking groups. 2.30pm Meet outside

Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum is inviting anyone with a vision impairment to visit their current British Impressionism exhibition, ‘From the Cornish Coast to the Malvern Hills’, for an exclusive viewing and welcome from curators Deborah Fox and Claire Cheshire. Visitors with a vision impairment are invited to meet at the Museum and Art Gallery, Foregate Street on Wednesday 29th March. Visitors will have the gallery to themselves between 10 am to 10:30 am. There will be supportive group exploration and discussion of the exhibition and the opportunity to chat further over a drink and cake at the Gallery Café. Lift and wheelchair access is provided. Sight Concern Worcestershire’s Eye Explore, in partnership with Pop Up Play Worcester, is a Free half term activity for visually impaired families – come along and create with cardboard! Cardboard creations – what can you make using your imagination and cardboard boxes? Are you passionate about advocating for change? Worcestershire’s Sight Loss Council is on the lookout for new members! Sight Loss Councils, run by Thomas Pocklington Trust, are led by blind and partially sighted members. They tackle local issues and work closely with service providers and businesses to improve the accessibility and provision of their services. This could be your opportunity to join this amazing project and create positive changes for people living with sight loss in Worcestershire. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has launched a new service making it easier for partially sighted people to use lateral flow tests in their home. The service has been launched following an ongoing partnership between UKHSA and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), the Macular Society, Thomas Pocklington Trust, Visionary and Be My Eyes app, to help make testing more accessible. The Be My Eyes app connects people with low to moderate vision with agents from 119 through a live video call. Users can now benefit from live video assistance from NHS Test and Trace staff to help guide them through how to order, use the tests
